PROJECT UPDATE: CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT ENCLOSURE FOR SWANSEA AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURER
Working alongside specialist turnkey contractor for technical environments Enbloc, MIDDAS have delivered another quick turnaround of a cleanroom solution using the M65 mono-bloc partition system. The project is being installed on a fast-track schedule to meet the client’s need to continue operations throughout the build.
A fast-track refurbishment
The existing site has multiple production and storage areas for the manufacture of automotive components which needed to be extended. As this extension is being undertaken during normal operation, one of the key requirements of the new partition system was that it needed to be erected quickly, with minimum disruption to daily activities.
The existing partitioning is being extended to further expand production capabilities, and to improve the cleanroom environment. The new partitioning will integrate seamlessly into the existing manufacturing areas.
The solution
M65 is a composite, double skin system with some limitations of a progressive build, yet the team have successfully adapted it to suit the client’s requirements. One of the areas being refurbished is a storage unit with a carousel. To accommodate the carousel and support the rapid action doors securely, panels were modified using specially designed fascia plates to maintain integrity within the wall of the cleanroom enclosure.
Panels also incorporated flush vision panels and doors, something that other mono-bloc systems can’t easily accommodate.
Installing our partitions within a busy working environment is no issue. Our pre-coated panels are delivered with a protective film that helps prevent damage on site during installation.
Quick to site, quick to build
The client wanted to move quickly, and from the initial enquiry, MIDDAS were able to deliver to site within four weeks. The team started the installation last week, working around the client’s busy production area, and already the wall partitions are taking shape.
With the client’s tight timescale, the finished installation will be ready within another few weeks. Watch this space!
