MIDDAS COMPETE IN THE CORACLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR MACMILLAN
The Coracle World Championships took place on the River Severn at the Pengwern Boat Club last Friday 8th September 2023. We are proud to say the team from MIDDAS braved the River Severn to compete all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support; even managing to secure the best ‘Best Dressed Award’ securing another trophy for our ever-growing collection.
On the Day
Up to 48 Teams, each comprising of four people complete in a relay race across the river in single person, circular boats with just one oar to steer and paddle. Starting with a practice run, the MIDDAS team managed to get through the heats finishing just outside of the top ten!
The race takes place every year fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support, at the end of Friday the event was on its way to raising over £30k to add to the £350,000 raised since the event begun.
