MIDDAS, WREKIN SHEETMETAL & TPC TEAM UP FOR THE SEVERN HOSPICE DRAGON BOAT RACE 2023
The Severn Hospice Dragon Boat Festival returns this year on 22nd – 23rd July 2023. The annual Dragon Boat Festival takes place in the heart of Shrewsbury, at Pengwern Boat Club on the River Severn. MIDDAS have joined forces with local partners Wrekin Sheetmetal and sister company The Powder Coaters, to create a team for this year’s race.
About the Race
The Dragon Boat Race is just what it sounds like. Teams of up to 20 race each other along the River Severn in 40ft dragon boats. Each team has a drummer for the boat, who leads their team into ‘battle’ to the finish line. Fancy dress is encouraged too!
The event takes place over two days, with spectators lining the river banks or watching from the Quarry. Last year, more than 30 teams raced their boats through the waters of the River Severn during the event.
